Meron (India) Pvt. Ltd , a newly promoted company is another addition in the MERON GROUP. This Company was set up to manufacture various natural bio-polymers like Chitin & Chitosan. These products were developed by the R & D Division of MERON GROUP. Chitin & Chitosan are the products of 21st century. The main raw material is prawn peelings and crab shells. Kochi, known as Queen of Arabian Sea, is blessed with maximum number of Sea Food processing units. The ready availability of prawn peelings is the best advantages this unit is enjoying for bringing cost effectiveness in the production. The other raw material needed are Hydrochloric acid and Caustic Soda Flakes. Both these products are readily available within a radius of about l5 kms from the location of the factory. Trial production was successfully conducted during the early part of the year. The products have been well accepted both in terms of quality and price in the export as well as domestic markets. The installed capacity is 120 Tons of Chitin and 24 Tons of Chitosan per annum. As regards Chitosan, Company will be introducing very soon new range of products to meet the specific demand for different applications MERON We are the leading manufacturers & traders of Industrial and Fine Chemicals.

The manufacturing activities include distillation of acids and solvents and production of Di Sodium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Monopotassium, etc. These products are well accepted by the consumers, because of the high quality standards. The unit has plans to widen its product range by introducing variety of speciality chemicals very shortly. Facilities exists for high purity of material as per specific requirements of each consumer. On the trading front 'MERON" is the sole distributor of BORIC ACID and BORAX manufactured by M/s. Borax Morarji Limited, Bombay.The excellent rapport developed by 'MERON' in the laboratory and Industrial Sector gave confidence to M/s MILLIPORE INDIA, a Multinational company with its Head Office in U.S.A and regional Office in Bangalore to give sole distributorship for Membrane Filters.Membrane Filters are used in wide range of applications which include; tissue culture, clarification of organic solvents, media preparation, removal of micro-organisms and particles. We are also the sole stockist for M/s Golden Chemicals Ltd., Bombay for their products Chromic Acid, Sodium Dichromate, Potassium Dichromate, Sodium Sulphate fine & coarse, Chrome oxide Paint grade, Basic Chromium Sulphate.We have also an export / import division. Our current interest for import is Pottasium Nitrate, Boric Acid / Borax, Copper Sulphate, Formic Acid, Caustic Soda, etc.
